You are subscribed to CDC’s Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) email subscription service. The typhoid vaccine information statement has recently been updated and is now available.

Minor changes were made throughout, the most significant of which is a change in the interval between certain antibiotics and the oral typhoid vaccine from 24 hours to 3 days (Section 4). Because this change concerns a precaution, we recommend switching to the updated VIS immediately when the live, oral typhoid vaccine is used.

Seven more VISs have acquired barcodes: hepA, hepB, HPV (Gardasil), polio, Japanese encephalitis, meningococcal, and Td/Tdap.

Aside from the barcode, these VISs are identical to the editions already in use. The edition dates did NOT change, and you may keep using the existing versions.

For more information about barcodes on VISs, see www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/vis-barcodes.htm.
