In the spotlight: Billables Project for Health Department Immunization Services Reimbursement

The Billables Project is a CDC-funded effort to enable state and local health departments to bill insurance companies for immunization services provided to insured patients. Since 2009, CDC has given more than $20 million to 28 project grantees to assist them in developing and implementing plans that will enable them to begin billing for vaccine services. The money raised through such billing programs can be used to expand and improve state and local immunization services for both children and adults.

Consult the Billables project page for resources, presentations, etc.

CDC Vaccine Information Statements Update

You are subscribed to CDC’s Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) email subscription service. The Td/Tdap vaccine information statement has recently been updated and is now available.

While there are minor edits throughout, the main reason for this update is to incorporate recent changes to ACIP recommendations regarding children 7 through 9 years of age, adults 65 and older, and pregnant women; and also to add a paragraph about the risk of syncope. Because of this last change, describing a potential risk to recipients, it is desirable that providers begin using this new edition as soon as possible.
